Generally speaking, the phrase “that’ll buff right out” comes with more than just a hint of sarcasm. However, there are the occasional situations when a scrape or a scuff on car paint looks scarier than it actually is, and will in fact… buff right out. Rewind to last weekend, and a KIA that got a little friendly with a garage door.
Seems my neighbor’s child overestimated his parking abilities. A heavy foot and too much gas rocketed the car forward, and it blasted straight through the garage door. As if driving through wasn’t bad enough, as he backed out the tension in the garage door snapped, dragging it across the paint from back to front and leaving several white marks on his nice blue paint.
Though I wasn’t home at the time, I was able to see the carnage later… complete with a hubcap that was buried into the drywall from the snap-back. Being the helpful (my wife would say nosy) neighbor that I am, I jumped at the opportunity to use my Random Orbital, Machine Polish 3, and Best of Show Wax to prove that you can drive through a garage door and… it’ll buff right out!
Though not my first experience with being able to surprise someone with the ability of Griot’s Garage products, this might have been one of the best turnarounds. How about you… what have you been able to bring back to life and how?
